Gears Of War 2, BUY IT NOW

Gears of War 2, Friday it saw the light of day, and it took me until today to get a copy, because I stupidly didn’t pre-order, no idea why, and had to find one at a grocery store that also sold electronics. But all that matters is that I have landed myself one. And I cannot wait to play the multiplayer, because of three major reasons.

- A much improved co-op mode that’s promising to be more fantastic and immersive than in the first game, which is saying a lot because Gears 1 reinvented the way most of us thought about Xbox Live co-op play.
- Horde mode, in which up to five players will be able to battle against wave after wave of Locust troops, seeing just how long you can survive. Sounds like the absolute coolest thing ever.
- And the fact that multiplayer has bots. Which means if you’re having trouble getting a game together, or just tired of those random swearing/racist six year olds that shouldn’t even be playing a gory M rated game, then you can ditch them for bots. And that’s the greatest news ever, because even just for practice reasons, I’ve missed that games haven’t had bot support. What better way to learn the ins and outs of a multiplayer map, or picking out your strategies than doing a few run throughs on your own. I know Halo 3 would have benefited greatly from such a thing. Personally I’d just love to be able to do nothing but team death matches over and over on sandtrap without getting stuck with a stupid bombing map occasionally.

So, I’m going to go play instead of continuing this now. If you haven’t go find a copy.
