Left 4 Dead is Fantastic

Published by slayed35440 at 10:16 pm under PC hype, PS3, ps3 hype, xbox 360, xbox 360 hype Edit This

I’ve just played the Xbox Live demo of Valve’s latest opus, Left 4 Dead. Absolutely fantastic is all I can say about this, and that I can’t wait to play the full version of the game. The way that Left 4 Dead already pushes the boundaries for what you’ve experienced in previous attempts at teamwork are nothing compared to what’s being done in L4D. Everybody is integral to success, whether it be as a fighter, or someone skilled at finding ways out of bad situations, or someone that can keep themselves healthy enough to never need a heal and so can offer their services with their med-pack.

Anybody who has trouble adhering to the team focused environments in L4D will find themselves in a whole world of hurt as hero tactics will get you nowhere but killed by the endless zombie hordes. Just like players who find themselves drifting too far from the pack are bound to be picked off very quickly, because any seemingly safe situation in L4D can turn into an incredibly hostile environment in no time at all.

My personal favourite about the demo was a part in which you had to avoid setting off a car alarm, as failure to do so resulted in a huge wave of Zombies attacking you from all angles.

Left 4 Dead does have a single player option, if you really can’t stand teaming up with real-world people, but I wouldn’t recommend that, because your team mates AI never seems to click enough for them to be anything close to helpful.

So gear up, because you’re going to be addicted to Left 4 Dead the way everyone was the first time Valve released the previous excellent online fragfests Counter-Strike and Team Fortress.

I guess I am too old. I just don’t get the attraction to Gutiar hero or Rock bank. I like games, but not those.
