F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin another reason for excitement

Published by slayed35440 at 12:50 pm under PC hype, ps3 hype, xbox 360 hype Edit This

Today may finally be the day that I’m actually excited for F.E.A.R. 2. As I was previously unconvinced of the need for such an emotion, considering the first F.E.A.R.’s great points were overshadowed by a few things that really bothered me. Namely the graphics and smallness of most combat areas and rooms of the buildings in which you spend most of your time just didn’t feel next-gen FPS-y in my experience on Xbox 360.

Not to mention the way that the camera is set up gave me a headache, I hate the sort of fishbowl view effect that most PC FPS games have, and so didn’t appreciate the console port containing the same awful effect intact.

But the one extraordinarily positive thing about F.E.A.R. always was the artificial intelligence. Not to mention the sheer terror you felt every time you ran in to Alma, one of the creepiest characters in FPS history.

What’s got me excited however, is the new trailer that has been released for F.E.A.R. 2 which provides an awesome glimpse into the new addition of Mechs as vehicles you can operate, and they look brilliant. I can’t wait to get into a Mech battle, given F.E.A.R.’s awesome A.I., or just how putting a Mech up against a squad of enemies will cause them to react. But if you haven’t already, watch it for yourself and become a believer in F.E.A.R. 2, unless you already were of course.

Knothole Island is out today, and promises new quests, rare items, and creatures for the continuation of your Fable II adventures. I know I’ve been waiting for this, considering how Fable II’s story was much too short for me, I can’t wait for the opportunity to have something else to do in the fabulous world Lionhead created. Because unfortunately Lionhead did great a great game world to play in, but they really didn’t furnish it with very much to do.
