F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo Coming

Another fine reason to be glad to have Xbox Live, or Playstation Network, or a PC with a high-speed internet connection. The official F.E.A.R. 2 demo releases January 22 on each. Getting the demo on Xbox Live and Playstation Network should be obvious, but for PC gamers go to http://www.whatisfear.com to get your taste of what will no doubt be FPS awesomeness.
And speaking of awesome demos, have you played the Skate 2 demo yet? I can’t wait to buy the real thing when it streets on the 21st. Improved physics, better graphics, a ridiculously cool replay feature will make this the best skateboard game ever made. Which is why I’m also excited for the next Tony Hawk game when the series decides to poke it’s head out once again.

Reportedly on hiatus to develop a new gaming experience to rival that found in Skate, I really want to see what a series with a bigger budget can do, given the competition of a game like Skate.

I know my distaste for the Wii knows no bounds, as I still don’t appreciate the gimmicky nature of Nintendo in recent years, and the horrid slew of crap that they call games the console is known for. But I would love to see the Tony Hawk series develop something to incorporate the Wii’s balance board in a way that we’ve never seen.

As Skate I think has sort of conquered how you can recreate skateboarding with a controller, Tony Hawk has to take it to the next level and the balance board is a perfect way. You think skate gives you the accomplishment and feeling of actually shredding an awesome line? Imagine what it would feel like when you were basically on the board yourself, not just flipping around a couple joysticks.
