GI Joe Movie Based Game, Should You Be Excited?

If you watched the Super Bowl this year, you saw an awesome commercial for the upcoming GI Joe: The Rise Of The Cobra movie. While I admit I thought the whole GI Joe film concept would be completely lame, I have to say, the action scenes look pretty damn cool. Which is exactly why I should be on board for the upcoming game based on said GI Joe film. But I have to say I’ve completely lost faith, because of one piece of information from the announcement of the game.
And that is, the addition of single screen co-op, because in the modern era my hopes for single screen co-op will forever be dead because of the horrid way that Fable II presented that sort of a co-op mode. Which means if GI Joe is every bit the cool 3D fragfest it should be, single screen co-op shouldn’t be possible, which means of course that the game will be arcadey, or in other words. . .lame.

That’s right, I’m already judging this game based upon one piece of information, and that’s because unless you’re playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, single screen co-op just doesn’t belong in the modern era of gaming.

Well, first Konami sued Viacom and Rock Band for infringing upon their copyright for manufacturing music instrument simulators. And now Rock Band is suing Konami right back for infringing upon their copyright for, I guess, drum kit simulators. That’s right, apparently Konami stole Rock Band’s concept for drumming in their awful music based game, Rock Revolution. I couldn’t care less about this story, because both cases sound too stupid for anyone to actually win them, but it’s the weekend and new news is scarce.
