New American McGee’s Alice Announced!

Remember the original American McGee’s Alice, and how brilliant a concept it was, not to mention how interesting exploring a twisted Wonderland can become? You should, because Alice was probably the best, if not most original and rewarding play of 2000. And now, all us fans of the original are getting a brand new American McGee’s Alice game, straight from EA.

While no formal announcement has been made as to which consoles the new game will be available to, or even when we can expect a release date, EA has confirmed that a new Alice is well into development, and that the new game will be a sequel, not a remake of the original game. I’m wondering if this is just a movie tie in with the upcoming film adaptation of the old Alice game, to which I’m hoping not, because I can’t imagine a movie based on the subject matter will be anywhere near as good as actually exploring Wonderland yourself, and the film probably won’t retain the integrity of the original release.
But at least we can look forward to the knowledge that sometime either this year or next, we can look forward to another adaptation of just how dark and sordid Wonderland can be, and that’s a good thing.

Skate 2 already has DLC, and pretty cool DLC at that, the pack is called Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Plaza, and will feature the same skate park as seen in the MTV show Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory as well as more skating ground in the surrounding LA area. But the coolest part is that the pack is only 400 Microsoft points. $5 for a brand new kick ass skating area in the best skateboard game available. . .yes please!

Mirror’s Edge seems set to become the new N+ the way developer EA is supporting the game’s time trial feature. A new DLC pack has just become available featuring nine new races that are designed to challenge even the most talented purveyors of parkour. Although if your cash is stretched a little thin and you have to choose between this DLC pack and Skate 2’s pack, buy the Skate 2 one. Nine new time trial races is cool and all, but a new skate park and downtown area for Skate is just way more fun, and half the price of the Mirror’s Edge pack which is up at 800 Microsoft points.
