Best news I’ve heard in a while today, Batman Arkham Asylum will have a demo available on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and even PC, to be released for download on August 7th.  That’s freaking awesome, because everyone has been describing this as finally being a Batman game that doesn’t suck.  The demo will open just where the game opens, with Batman and Commissioner Gordon taking a captured Joker into Arkham Asylum to be locked away.  Of course this goes completely wrong and The Joker puts his plan into place, escaping and effectively letting every prisoner contained within, out of their cells to wreak havoc, with Gordon and Batman both locked inside the asylum with the criminally insane.  

This will be especially badass for three reasons, the first being that Eidos has made this game in the same feel as the films, with an emphasis on the darker side of things.  Dark environments, dark plot themes, and some truly terrifying moments.  Reason two, the demo will showcase the much hyped free flowing combat engine that Eidos developed for Batman.  And reason three, the demo will also finally showcase the stealth mechanic, so we can see just how the Dark Knight moves around his prey unseen until the moment before you strike.
