Mobile Game Of The Week
House M.D.

The mobile game of the week this week would be Dragon’s Lair…but I wrote about that in a different post. Rather, I choose House M. D. the puzzle game based upon the Fox television show of the same name. I love the Fox show, but I don’t love this game. Mostly because it’s too damned confusing.
The tutorial is nice, because you’ll feel as though you have some clue as to how the puzzles function. Then when you’re actually on your own, you’ll feel completely clueless, because the tutorial doesn’t explain nearly enough. This game is an undecipherable mess that punishes you for being a fan of the show.

You’ll be tasked with saving patients by solving their symptom puzzles. The symptoms are represented by symbols that appear in several squares on an x-ray. You are able to send out the team, Foreman, 13, and Taub, to do the essential show stuff from lab tests, to breaking into someone’s home to find answers. These are used to eliminate false symptoms, so that you can solve the greater puzzle.
Unfortunately the game is such a mess, it’s almost impossible to actually know what you’re doing, while you do this. I’m very disappointed, as the tutorial would have you believe this is a simple puzzle game. But the unexplained parts I encounter later on in the game just have me perplexed as to how this is supposed to work.
I’m a huge fan of the character Hugh Laurie has created with Dr. Gregory House…I’m not a huge fan of this game. Oh, and as another downside, House’s in game lines are nowhere near as brilliant and funny as on the show.
